Thus, how do you construct an attention-grabbing headline? Keeping the following points in mind:
Communicate with your target market. Your headline should virtually beg for attention by addressing one of their most pressing issues and proposing a solution (more about that in the next point). However, you may also address your market specifically by writing a pre-title (a line above the main headline) that reads, “Attention, [target market]!”
For instance: Attention, stay-at-home moms!
Present a significant benefit or make a significant promise. Individuals are not interested in a “free newsletter.” Rather than that, they’re interested in learning what the newsletter can do for them.
For instance, a weight-loss newsletter might assist members in “losing ten pounds swiftly and easily — for free!”

Your title captures the attention of potential readers and entices them to continue reading. Now, your landing page copy must engage, interest, and entice them to subscribe to your list.
There are a few different strategies to pique your reader’s interest in your sales letter’s introductory paragraph. Consider the following two strategies:
Create an emotional connection with your reader by telling a tale. Here, you relate a tale of someone who faced a similar challenge and how they overcome it. Naturally, their solution should contain an invitation to subscribe to your email or download a freebie.
Another option you might take is to simply speak directly to the prospect about his problem, emphasizing the suffering associated with it. Then, as a solution, give your newsletter and freebie.

As you can see, they’ve previously joined a variety of lists. The landing pages made them promise the moon… yet failed to deliver. Many of these companies promised weekly “content-filled newsletters” but provided nothing but advertising. As a result, the prospect is wondering if you, like everyone else, will break your promises.
There is nothing wrong with sending a newsletter that is entirely comprised of product pitches… if that is what your email subscribers expect! However, if you’re like the majority of successful marketers, you’ll want to present a mix of high-quality content (which will help you create relationships with your readers) and product pitches. Whatever you choose, ensure that your subscribers understand what to expect from your newsletter.
Therefore, this is the solution: Provide evidence for your claims.
This evidence may include the following:
Social evidence, in the form of client testimonials or endorsements. These testimonies might be text-based or video-based.
Utilize testimonials to demonstrate that your solution works. For instance, a testimonial such as “The newsletter is enjoyable to read” is insufficient. “I lost 15 pounds utilizing these diet secrets – if I can do it, anyone can!” is a more powerful testimony.
For instance, you may display a screenshot of your PayPal account to substantiate your income claims.
For instance, you may include “before” and “after” images for a dieting product.
Video clips. Because videos are more interesting than static images and screenshots, you can substitute video for the static images and screenshots.

If you’re offering a multi-part ecourse as an incentive, your solo emails will already be in place. All you have to do is take your course and divide it into seven to twelve sections (classes), delivering one lesson every one to three or four days.
Each of your emails will consist of a portion of content (the lesson) and a portion of pitch (where you promote the related product).
For instance, suppose you’re selling a book on how to make money blogging. If your affiliate product is geared for novices, you could build a seven-lesson series instructing individuals on how to set up and launch their own blog. You promote the sophisticated “how to make money” blogging product in each message.
The following is a sample set of lessons:
Lesson 1: How to choose a hungry niche, sent shortly after prospect joins.

If you use your autoresponder to publish many months’ worth of material, your newsletter will operate on autopilot. Of course, you should begin pushing additional affiliate products within these mails.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that your initial autoresponder series of emails (regardless of its length) should contain evergreen content. That is stuff that never becomes “outdated” or “stale.” The content is just as timely today as it was a year ago. And it will be “current” and pertinent next year.
For instance, instructing your readers on how to compose a sales letter is a perennial subject. However, asking consumers to purchase a “new” product is NOT evergreen, as the term “new” will no longer be applicable within a few weeks.
What If You Do Not Have an Ecourse Available?
The benefit of using an ecourse to entice subscribers to join your list is that you’re teaching them to read your newsletter. If you do not provide an ecourse, you should still populate your autoresponder with at least seven to twelve messages that are equal parts content and pitch for the primary affiliate product you are advertising (along with other promotions, where applicable).
The distinction is that you will not be giving a sequential set of lessons in this case. Rather than that, you might simply send a series of articles on a narrowly defined specialty issue.
Assume you’re promoting the blogging product mentioned previously. And suppose you’re offering a report on blogging as an incentive. Even if you’re not using an autoresponder to deliver the content, you’ll want to send a series of solo emails to help you create rapport with your readers and clinch the deal on the affiliate product you’re pushing.
